Cracked Racquets Launches Project Elite Program to Sponsor College Athletes
Project Elite focuses on providing NIL opportunities for college tennis athletes through the promotion of the game.
Cracked Racquets announced today the launch of Project Elite, a program dedicated to providing NIL opportunities for collegiate tennis athletes across the country through the promotion of college tennis.
“Without the love and passion we have received from college tennis fans across the country, Cracked Racquets would not continue to exist as it does today,” commented Cracked Racquets CEO Dalton Thieneman. “Our goal for Project Elite is to provide student-athletes across the country the chance to capitalize on that same excitement, energy, and enthusiasm felt by the countless passionate fans of college tennis across the country.”
In compliance and coordination with the existing NCAA regulations surrounding NIL opportunities for student-athletes, Cracked Racquets will provide student-athletes paid opportunities to help promote and raise the profile of the sport, create and build their own individual brands, and share unique insights into all aspects of the college tennis experience.
Throughout the 2021-22 season, Cracked Racquets athletes will appear on multiple Cracked Racquets media outlets (podcasts, social media channels, ect.) to discuss and promote the season. They will also be able to both design and sell their own individual lines of merchandise, and provide behind the scenes access to the life of a student-athlete.
“Our Cracked Racquets team is absolutely thrilled to announce that Ohio State’s Cannon Kingsley and Isabelle Boulais will be the first two athletes to join Project Elite,” said Dalton Thieneman. “We believe they each embody all that is exceptional about college tennis, and sincerely look forward to working with them to help both build their own brands and grow the game we all love.”
Cannon Kingsley, now entering his third year in Columbus, finished the 2020-21 season with a 27-2 overall record in singles, and reached as high as #5 in the ITA Singles Rankings. He earned All-American honors as a freshman in 2020, and was named the 2020 Big Ten Freshman of the Year. He also received Academic All-Big Ten Honors in 2021, and is a two-time OSU Scholar-Athlete
Fourth-Year Isabelle Boulais finished first team All-Big Ten in 2021, and is just the fifth Buckeye to reach the NCAA Individual Tournament in both singles and doubles. She is also a two-time Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete recipient, and was the 2019 Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
