Showtime In New York
As the action heats at the fourth and final slam of the year, we'll be bringing you coverage every step of the way!
Welcome back Cracked fans! We’ve officially made it to the second week of this year’s US Open and it’s been a fun one. Part of the appeal of this year’s tournament is the success we’ve witnessed from homegrown talent. For the first time since 2005, three American men have reached the quarterfinals of the US Open on Sunday. Taylor Fritz, Frances Tiafoe, and Ben Shelton all won their respective fourth-round matches and will play on Tuesday for a chance to advance further. With Shelton and Tiafoe set to face each other in the quarterfinals, there will be a guaranteed American in the Men’s semifinals for the second year in a row after Tiafoe did it last year.
On the Women’s side, the Americans have continued to excel with Coco Gauff and Madison Keys reaching the quarterfinals. Keys went through after defeating No. 3 seed and fellow American Jessica Pegula, while Gauff overcame the staunch challenge of former World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki.
