Hello and welcome CR fans! We are in (arguably) the most exciting tennis season as college competition is in the postseason and we look ahead to Roland Garros! Below, we’ve got updates/results, things to watch for, and exclusive offers...enjoy!
College Tennis - NCAA Championships
Down in Orlando, the action is electric! On the women’s side, the following teams have punched their ticket to the semis: UNC, Pepperdine, NC State, and Texas. Not all of the men’s quarterfinal matches have been completed yet, but Tennessee has advanced and Baylor and TCU are battling now! Tune into the Tennis Channel and the TennisONE app to follow the matches live. And don’t forget...individual championships are still to come!
Pro Tennis - ATP and WTA
On the men’s side, the attention has been turned to Geneva (where we saw the return of Federer) and Lyon. In Geneva, Federer’s return was the headline, but he lost in the first round to Andujar. Andujar backed up his win and is still alive in the draw, as are fellow clay court specialists Ruud and Cuevas. In Lyon, it’s been great to see veteran Frenchmen in action, including Gasquet and Monfils. Earlier today, Gasquet notched a big upset vs. Schwartzman while Monfils fell in a tight 3-setter to Nishioka. The most notable result from today has to be Norrie upsetting Thiem, who has struggled as of late. The question is will his poor form continue through the French, or will he return to his normal form on the clay? The focus for WTA has been on Parma, where 2 Americans are into the semis! Both Gauff and Stephens won their QF matches earlier today and will now square off against Siniakova and Wang, respectively.
